Review Copy Cleanup [challenge 5] - Love Will Find a Way
In the Love Will Find a Way Challengewe're sharing our all-time favourite books. If you were stuck on an island, or in a cave, which books would you bring? We're not limiting you to bring a certain amount of books, so give us your best!
Participating in the Review Copy Clean Up for the past month has been fun. I enjoyed the challenges, meeting new bloggers, chatting with old friends and reading everyone's responses. Best of all I read 10 review books and posted reviews for 9 of them. (the last will post 4/6) I just want to say thank you to Vicky and Celine for hosting this event. Today is the final challenge for Review Copy Clean-Up. This weeks challenge:
"If you were stuck in a cave or on an island, which books would you bring?".
Then they added. "No limit of books."
Now limiting yourself to 3 books is always a challenge, but you manage because you know there can only be three. Telling a book addict there is no limit- creates panic. Why? The answer is simple I would bring them all. Logistically speaking this might be difficult. For example: How much weight can a ship hold to take me to the island. Can I take more then one? (notice I say ship and not row boat or small power boat...I am thinking serious storage space) Secondly; How big is my cave? So before I go crazy and get myself in a dither over book lists, I've decided to share five books that would definitely go with me.
Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen
The Good Earth by Pearl S. Buck
The Complete Harry Potter Collection Box Set (Harry Potter #1-7)
by J.K. Rowling
To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee
Gone with the Wind by Margaret Mitchell
Now, I realize the entire Harry Potter collection is more then one book- but it's best not to argue with an addict.
What would you take? Is it to late to change my mind?
*nervously stares at book cases.*

I think Harry Potter is going to be a common one. You're only the second person I've visited so far, but it's been on both lists, and mine too. I was excited when I saw there was no limit, but I had a similar thought to yours - when it's limited, you HAVE to choose and you just make up your mind to do it, but when it's endless choices...I think we'd be sinking boats! lol
Gone With the Wind, To Kill a Mockingbird and Pride and Prejudice are some of my favorites and books that I would want with me as well. I still have to read The Good Earth.

Great choices...I don't know what I would pick...I've never read a book twice and hope that I am never in the position that I would have to!

I need a month for a "read all the books that keep appearing on favouroyes lists" challenge. I never read To Kill a Mockingbird at school and someone from online forums even sent me a copy to read...but it's still sat unread years later. I don't know why I never pick it up, maybe I'm scared I won't love it ;)
Great list! I totally agree with Harry Potter, seeing as its on my list also :) Love Pride and Prejudice also! I'd have to haul my bookcase on my back I just love all my books too much!
Thanks for stopping by!
I agree with Harry Potter too!
Here are my favourites :)

The Good Earth and Gone with the Wind would be what I take too. And I would cart my Tolkien collection with me. Everything must go!
lol is bet 2 argue lol
gr8 list
You know I could never decide what books to take. I think if any I'd take The Phantom Of The Opera, but as for 4 others...I don't know :(
LOL! I still have to read Gone with the wind. Its size intimidates me.

Great choices! <3 Harry Potter! I have read Pride and Prejudice and To Kill a Mockingbird, but neither of the other two classics, yet!
I think I love your picks!!!
I would add some Melina Marchetta myself, and keep HP and P&P
I think the entire Harry Potter series should DEFINITELY count as one book - especially since you can buy the whole series on Kindle now. If it comes in one package, it definitely counts!
I think I'd bring Harry Potter and The Hunger Games trilogy - both series are amazing, and I an read them over and over without getting sick of them. For my third choice, I'd bring something that makes me think and inspires me to be a better person like "Forgiving the Unforgivable" by Master Charles Cannon (http://forgivingtheunforgivable.com) - especially if I'm stranded with other people. Forgiving the Unforgivable details the experience of the author when he was in Mumbai durring a terrorist attack that left his friend dead. Master Charles talks about how important it is to forgive, even when the crime is as extreme as murder. It puts my grudges in perspective for sure!
