Clean Sweep ARC Challenge May 2013
Today I am excited to announce the
Clean Sweep ARC Challenge for May 2013
Together with Kimberly @ The Windy Pages we will be helping you clean up those ARCs. The challenge begins on May 1 and ends on the 31st.
The goal: to read and review as many ARC's as we can. We will have fun challenges each Saturday hosted by some wonderful bloggers and a prize for two luck participants at the end of the challenge. So gather your ARCs and your brooms and lets have some fun!
Rules
- Must be read during May 1st and May 31st, 2013
- Starts and ends at midnight in your local time zone
- Physical and digital ARCs are eligible, in any length and genre!
- Linky will close on May 15th so sign up before you miss out!
- When you join, please add the challenge button to your blog. When you post your goals be sure add button and links back to hosts.
- Challenges will be hosted each Saturday with a chance to win additional prize
- Grand Prize- TWO winners will be chosen to pick a book of their choice from The Book Depository. (Up to $15 value per book)
- Please post your recap by June 3rd. This is the day that the Rafflecopter will close. Recap post should include a link to the review or Goodreads review with date it will be posted on your blog. (This is for readers who may be reading books way ahead of schedule and don't want to post a review yet!)
- Rafflecopter entries will be awarded for each book review linked, posting about challenge, recap post, participation in challenges, and following.
Challenge Schedule and Rafflecopter will post on April 30th at 4pm (EST) Rafflecopter will close on June 3 at 11:59 (EST)

Kim the last rule states that you get extra points for each review linked, recap post, posting about the challenge…how do you guys know if we posted? Does that mean each challenge that I participate in I've got to do a whole new blog post about it?

Can you just clear up the whole release date thing? Do ARCs have to be published after May 1st 2013 to count? Or do other books that we received as ARCs, but have since been published count?

I'd already planned that May was going to have to be my month to catch up on reviews of my ARCs so this is perfect!
The pile has been getting bigger, I just hope I can get them all done!

This is going to be so much fun and a challenge I definitely need in May! There are a ton of ARCs out that I already have that are released in June!

I so need this! I'm going to write my sign-up post when it gets closer to May, but definitely count me in! I actually might see how many I can knock off before then, and then challenge myself to completely clear the pile of what is left come May -- that might be a little too ambitious, but I figure it's worth a shot!

i changed the rules to clarify that bit...you only need to grab button now, and link back to us when you do your goal post in May. It was the wording because you were not the only one to voice concern..LOL
no need to commit to an amount...just commit to reading only ARC's :)

I hear you, I actually review a month ahead of time, for example my reviews except one are done and scheduled for March, and I am reading/writing for April. I am hoping to get a jump on reviews scheduled over the summer.. for more sun time!

Kim is my blog thinner than the usual "3 column" blog width? Even if I've got a design on it, can I still change the width?
Yes you can still change width.
There are a couple of ways to do it. You can re-size your blog width this can be done by going to customize and then adjusting width. I would try making the blog 1200 width and adjusting the sidebar, since this is probably a problem you run into a lot since your blog is narrow with two sidebars. You can also resize images using photobucket or flicker. Simply copy image to computer, upload to photobucket or flicker, resize and then copy and paste direct url code into button code. The third option is to copy this code:
and just change #'s for width and height till it fits your existing sidebar.

This sounds awesome! Just one question - apologies if this is a stupid question - but what do you mean by ARCs? Galleys? (Advanced Reader Copies)?? Thanks for your help!
It is not a stupid question. ARCs are advanced reader copies or galleys. Blogger's can begin obtaining them through netgalley and edelweiss.
