The Prey
by Andrew Fukuda
Series: The Hunt #2
Publisher: St. Martin
Publication date: January 29, 2013
Genre: YA Dystopian
Purchase: Barnes and Noble/Amazon/Book Depository

For Gene and the remaining humans—or hepers—death is just a heartbeat away. On the run and hunted by society, they must find a way to survive in The Vast... and avoid the hungry predators tracking them in the dark. But they’re not the only things following Gene. He’s haunted by the girl he left behind and his burgeoning feelings for Sissy, the human girl at his side. When they discover a refuge of exiled humans living high in the mountains, Gene and his friends think they’re finally safe. Led by a group of intensely secretive elders, the civilization begins to raise more questions than answers. A strict code of behavior is the rule, harsh punishments are meted out, young men are nowhere to be found—and Gene begins to wonder if the world they have entered is just as evil as the one they left behind. As life at the refuge grows more perilous, he and Sissy only grow closer. In an increasingly violent world, all they have is each other... if they can only stay alive.
I loved The Hunt the first book in this series and the ending left me drooling for more *scratches wrist*

Frost Burned
by Patricia Briggs
Series: Mercy Thompson #7
Publisher: Orbit
Publication date: February 7, 2013
Genre: Adult Urban Fantasy
Purchase:Barnes and Noble/Amazon/Book Depository

Shapeshifter Mercy Thompson's life is calming down, at least enough that she can focus on mundane matters like Black Friday sales. But on her return, Mercy is unable to contact her mate, Alpha Adam Hauptman, or the other members of their pack. All she knows is that Adam is angry and in pain. With the werewolves fighting a political battle to gain acceptance from the public, Mercy fears Adam's disappearance may be related - and that he and the pack are in serious danger. Outclassed and on her own, Mercy may be forced to seek assistance from the most unlikely of allies: the vampire seethe.

I love this action packed series and protagonist Mercy Thompson. Adam is completely swoon-worthy and the fact that he is missing just increases my anticipation! I love the cover of this one, and the softer look of Mercy without losing the bad-ass look.

Whoa, great picks! Love the cover of Mercy Thompson's book. I have yet to start the series, though.

Ohhhhhhh yeah! I can't wait for the next book in The Hunt series either! Or Mercy -- I like the whiteness of the background on the cover. It's a nice change from the busier covers in the rest of the series.

I love the Mercy books though I haven't had the chance to read the newest ones, and the cover art is always so amazing. I haven't had the chance to read The Hunt but I want to, it sounds so odd that I can't deny myself the indulgence. Great picks :)
